Keith R. Woolliams

It is with the heaviest of hearts that I write to you. You have lost a dear, dear husband, father and grandfather and true friend to many.

As you know, Keith and I go back to his Bermuda days, and we have stayed in touch ever since. He was such a fun and totally genuine person; very warm and kind and so, so happy when he married you, Akiko, and so proud of Angela and Frank and his two grandchildren. He was, as we say in England, a "true gentleman". He was also a superb plantsman.

You will all miss him terribly - a big hole has been left in your hearts and lives. With time - but it will take time - sadness will be replaced with warm and happy memories. My heart goes out to you all. We will miss him very much indeed.

I am so sorry to hear about Keith. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Please keep in touch. I know the holidays will be hard.

I am so sorry for your loss. Keith was a great man who inspired all of us to strive for perfection in taxonomy. There are many days I reflect on our times together in Waimea Valley. I feel very fortunate that I had the time with Keith and the others who worked in the arboretum. To this day I still live my life dealing with native plants and preservation of the natural biota and cultural sites of Hawaii island.

I am so sad to hear of Keith’s passing. I had hope you & Keith would come to visit Waimea sometime soon. He has a special place in my heart and a mentor of mine in many ways. My sympathies and thoughts are with you and your family

I am so dreadfully saddened by the news of Keith's death. We are such a small family, and he has always been one of the best of us, delightfully charming and funny and kind. Even though we always have lived at opposite ends of the country, he and you and your children have always had a special place in my heart. I  will be thinking of you all and remembering Keith and you and family in my heart and prayers. I regret that we are so far away that we have not had the opportunity to spend more time together. This world will be a poorer place without Keith with us.

Again I am very sorry that your father has passed away, what can I say, it is sad but a path that is ahead of us all. Try to remember the great days you had with your dad. Please send my regards and condolences to your mom I wish her much strength.

I am sorry for your loss. I always remember how much he knew about plans and how important this was. He seemed like a good husband and father. I always enjoyed my time with him. The world will be a lesser place without him. I honor him as a valued man. Your suffering with him during this phase of his life was admirable.
